Florida Rock & Tank Lines on a mission to hire military veterans

Posted: April 20, 2022

Florida Rock & Tank Lines (FRTL) is on a mission to help military veterans transition into a rewarding civilian career as CDL-A tanker truck drivers with us. FRTL CEO Rob Sandlin and FRTL driver Joseph Britt, Jr. (U.S. Army veteran) met with President Joe Biden and other politicians earlier this month to discuss the government’s Trucking Action Plan on ways to address the trucking industry’s workforce challenges.
Trucking Action Plan states it will, “address these trucking workforce challenges and begin building a next generation trucking workforce. A stronger trucking workforce is one where trucking jobs are good, safe, and stable — jobs that employers can attract a new generation of drivers into while retaining existing drivers to deliver for clients and grow their businesses. The nation’s trucking workforce also demands clear, debt-free paths into these good jobs through high-quality training, such as Registered Apprenticeships, which prepare trainees and provide employers with a steady pipeline of skilled, safe, and experienced drivers.”
As a DOD Skillbridge and DOL Registered Apprenticeship-approved employer, FRTL stands ready to assist military veterans in transitioning to a successful tanker truck driving career. We take great pride in providing transitioning military service members with the most competitive combination of pay and benefits along with daily home time.
If you already have a CDL or military driving experience, we’ll add to your skills with our short training program, and you’ll be ready to roll.
Since 1962, Florida Rock & Tank Lines, Inc. has operated as an industry leading premier bulk tank carrier. We serve the southeastern United States, transporting petroleum and other liquid and dry bulk commodities from 16 terminals in addition to numerous truck domicile locations.
